Inquests

Our firm has experience in representing families at Coronial Inquests following the death of loved ones in Hospitals, Care Homes and other state institutions.

We recognise that following the death of a loved one the Inquest may provide the only opportunity to have the family’s questions answered in respect of the death.

Our experience extends to providing expert advice and representation in respect of Article 2 European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR) or Middleton” Inquests. These Inquests are wider in scope and investigate deaths that were caused by systematic failings deemed as being sufficiently serious as to breach the states duty to maintain safe systems to protect life.

The Inquest system is complex and differs greatly from the Civil and Criminal Courts in terms of its procedures and objectives. We will ensure that you are expertly represented from the very outset and are provided with the very best opportunity of having all of your questions about the death dealt with. This entails ensuring that the hearing is fair, that you receive all relevant evidence and disclosure and that you are afforded the opportunity to fully participate in the Inquest procedure.
